A new year, a new start

I have a friend who wants to do something big. I told him he might want to consider writing a book. A book would give him the cred he needs to back him up when he speaks.

Then I was doing some web surfing and I found a blog from a simple guy trying to help people do things. So simple I don't remember what it was but it did make me think of my advice to write a book.

A book is hard even apart from the writing. It's finding a publisher and promoting yourself that makes it extra difficult. It's also very 20th century. The internet is how we communicate now days. The blog is what people use to get a message across. Plus a blog can later become a book. It's happened multiple times now to the popular ones.

A blog and the internet let find your audience regardless of how niche your brand.

Then I started thinking, "Hey, that's some good advice right there. Maybe I should do it too!" So that's what I'm trying to do right now.

You see, I have lots of creative ideas, on lots of different subjects. I think through 2013 I'm going to start using this blog to get those ideas out there.

I have a semi script for a web comic. I've been semi looking for the right artist for it for a while now. Maybe one of the things I'll do is to publish the story here. It'll be entertaining, (maybe) and hopefully some artist will catch the vision and want to draw it.

I've got other ideas too. comics, jokes, stories. Stuff I want to get out there.

By nature, I'm a collaborative guy. My hope is that people will see stuff here, like it and come back for more. Maybe they will help make it better, maybe they will ask me to help them. Who knows where this will lead.

I'd like to say I'll do it every day but I'm honestly skeptical about the rest of the week and it's already Thursday  so lets just say I'll try for as often as possible and see where I go from there.
